MA TOVU
How lovely are your dwellings, O House of Israel.
O Lord, through Your abundant kindness I enter Your house
And worship You with reverence in Your holy sanctuary.
I love Your presence in this place where Your glory resides.
Here, I bow and worship before the Lord, my maker.
And I pray to You, O Lord, that it shall be Your will
To answer me with Your kindness and grace,
And with the essence of Your truth that preserves us.
BAR'KHU
Worshiped be Adonai, the Lord, to whom all praise is due.
Worshiped be Adonai, the Lord, who is to be worshiped for all eternity. Amen.
SH'MA YISRA'EL
Listen, Israel! The Lord is our God.
The Lord is the only God—His unity is His essence.
Praised and worshipped be His Name whose glorious Kingdom is forever and ever.
MI KHAMOKHA
Your children beheld Your majestic supreme power, and exclaimed: "This is our God: The Lord Adonai will reign for all time."
TZUR YISRA'EL
Translation: Union Prayer Book 1947
O Rock of Israel, redeem those who are oppressed and deliver those who are persecuted. Praised and worshiped be Thou (Praised be He, and praised be His name), our redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
K'DUSHA
Translation: Gates of Prayer 1975
We sanctify Your name on earth, even as all things, to the ends of time and space, proclaim Your holiness; and in the words of the prophet we say:
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts; adonai, the fullness of the whole earth is His glory!
Source of our strength, Sovereign Lord, how majestic is Your presence in all the earth!
Blessed is the glory of God in heaven and earth.
He alone is our God and our Creator; He is our Ruler and our Helper; and in His mercy He reveals Himself in the sight of all the living:
The Lord adonai shall reign forever; your God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Hallelujah!
YIH'YU L'RATZON
May my prayers of [articulated] words as well as the meditations of my heart be acceptable to You.
THE SUN AND MOON
Translation: S S C (attribution in score)
Sung in English
Text: Yehuda Halevi
The Sun and the Moon that in their paths obey
The unchanging ordinance of night and day
For you, oh Jacob’s sons, these signs on high,
Nation eternal, ye shall not decay …
AFTER KADDISH (ALEINU)
Translation: Gates of Prayer 1975
Let us adore the ever living God and render praise unto Him who spread out the heavens and established the earth. Whose glory is revealed in the heavens above, and whose greatness is manifest throughout the world. He is our God; there is none else. We therefore bow in awe and thanksgiving before the One who is Sovereign over all, the Holy One, blessed be He.
