Sung in English
I. MA NISHTANA
Why is this night different from all other nights? What is the difference between this special night and all other nights? Why do we eat unleavened bread? Why bitter herbs? Why do we dip twice and dine reclining? What is the difference between this special night and all other nights?
II. AVADIM HAYINU
We were slaves to the Pharaoh in Egypt; yes we were slaves. We were slaves with a heavy burden, but now, but now, we all are free. What is the difference between this special night and all other nights?
III. DAYEINU
If only we were brought from bondage out of Egypt into freedom, out of bondage into freedom, it would be enough! If only the Red Sea had split and we were fed while in the desert, Sea had split and we were fed it would be enough! If only we were given Sabbath, given Sabbath and the Law, it would be enough! To offer praise and gratitude.
IV. HALLELUJAH
Hallelujah, hallelujah, give thanks give praise for all. Gratefully we sing to you, hallelujah, hallelujah...Why is this night different from all other nights? Why do we eat unleavened bread? Why bitter herbs? Why do we dip twice and dine reclining? What is the difference between this special night and all other nights? We remember our slavery while we celebrate freedom on this night.
