From the Curator, Jeff Janeczko:
Created to celebrate the launch of the Milken Archive’s new website, this two-album anthology features one sample track from each of the Archive’s 20 thematic volumes. To compile such a representation from a collection comprising more than 600 recorded works (more than 1800 individual tracks) by some 200 composers is no small task. As Curator, I’ve chosen what I feel are some of the most interesting samples from those 20 volumes, with an eye toward balancing musical genre, artistic interest, and cultural and historical relevance.
This website has been designed to reflect the Milken Archive’s 20-volume structure while also elucidating the many secondary themes and various ways in which the composers and repertoire are interconnected.
