Composer Marvin David Levy discusses the composition of his Masada oratorio. Commissioned for Richard Tucker and the National Symphony of Israel, the work is based loosely on Isaac Lamden's poem of the same name, and incorporates aspects of the liturgy and the historical writings of Josephus. The 2000 version recorded by the Milken Archive is a revised version in cantata form. Interview by Neil W. Levin. Milken Archive oral history excerpt.
