Russell Gloyd has established a diverse career as conductor, producer, and arranger. In 1976, he began conducting symphonic and choral performances with the Dave Brubeck Quartet in the United States and around the world, and continued to do so until the jazz icon’s death in 2012. As a guest conductor, he has appeared with such organizations as the San Francisco Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra and the symphony orchestras of Atlanta, Dallas, and Chicago, and the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston. He made his London debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1989 and his Vienna debut in 1995. He has recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra as part of their prestigious “LSO Live” series, and he has also recorded a two-CD set with the LSO entitled Classical Brubeck.
